SensorUp’s SaaS software aggregates endless sources of data into a powerful common operating picture that gives customers the ability to improve operational efficiency and automate moving processes. Our customers are Enterprise organizations in Oil and Gas, Mining, Industrial Logistics and Public Safety. We are a well-funded, venture capital backed company that is leading the way in the movement intelligence market.  

We are expanding our go-to-market team, and as such, we are looking for a Senior Sales Representative to sell SensorUp SaaS into the markets we target in North America. We employ a team-based sales model in which the Senior Sales Representative is the heart of the team coordinating activities and communications with new customers in order to develop customer champions, communicate the value of our product and close new customer opportunities. This is a key hire for the company.  

The ideal candidate will be an experienced enterprise sales representative who is savvy both in technology sales and the markets we serve. We are looking for someone who has the ability to quickly learn and articulate complex ideas and technologies, a results-driven competitive spirit, professional integrity and a strong desire to grow their sales career.

What you'll do

  •  0 to 30 Days
  • Learn to articulate and effectively communicate the value propositions of our software and how customers can benefit from implementing SensorUp
  • Get comfortable with demonstrating our software and apply the different demonstrations to different customer segments and needs
  • Collaborate with marketing to address any identified gaps in the various sales tools we employ
  • Get familiar with the sales process and define your personal process within it for handling inbound leads, developing customer opportunities and closing new customer sales.

30+ Days

  • Interact with prospects via phone, email, or video conferencing
  • Identify and qualify new inbound sales opportunities
  • Work closely with marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance, improve lead qualification, and lead scoring
  • Develop, test and iterate outbound campaigns to drive new outbound opportunities
  • Constantly hit and exceed daily/weekly/monthly activity metrics
  • Keep detailed notes of activities and ensure data cleanliness in Hubspot and Salesforce
  • Represent the company and educate prospects at trade shows, conferences, and private events. Some travel will be required (once it’s allowed)
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using a value-based approach
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis  for potential customers
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Close deals

What we are looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in technology sales 
  • 5+ years experience as an Enterprise Sales representative or equivalent role
  • Bachelor’s degree in either a technology or business related field of study
  • Strong familiarity with either the energy or mining segments and ideally a strong personal network in at least one of these two segments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated sales record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Success prospecting, engaging and acquiring major and enterprise level customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to convey and relate ideas to others
  • Entrepreneurial flare – ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Vibrant and energetic attitude, willingness to perform and get things done

We require an experienced sales representative who likes the challenge of selling new products into large and complex customers. SensorUp is a well-financed, venture capital backed company and is committed to building both a strong customer base and the technology to support them. We are looking for someone with the experience to help us improve our sales process and drive results. 

Compensation

The competitive compensation plan includes a base salary plus commission, in addition to the ability to participate in both the options plan and extended benefits. 

Location

SensorUp has offices in Vancouver and Calgary. We have a hybrid remote/office culture.  For this position, we are looking for candidates preferably in Calgary or Vancouver, but we welcome remote applicants anywhere in Canada as long as they are happy working from home.
